Smart Research
Now here's an author who does her research. She is also a careful reader of the fiction she analyzes. I can't wait for her to write another book. When it comes out, I will be among the first to buy it.

Come Into My Cave
Published in Paperback by LHA Books (15 February, 1998)
Authors: Linda Hardy and Linda Hardy
Average review score:

Come Into My Cave
I usually don't like historical fiction, but I loved "Come Into My Cave"! It was a well written novel with a very interesting plot. Everyone in my family has read it at least once. Unlike most early human stories, the characters seemed complex and sophisticated, rather than dull and simple. "Come Into My Cave" really altered my point of view about the humanity and lifestyle of pre-historic humans.

Cyril Bonhamy and the great drain robbery
Published in Unknown Binding by J. Cape ()
Author: Jonathan Gathorne-Hardy
Average review score:

Incredibly hilarious
This book on tape is perfect for long car, bus, train, or plane rides. It's the story of Cyril Bonhamy, a hapless British tourist in Nice, France who somehow manages to get himself mixed up with one of France's most dangerous criminals. This is mostly due to the fact that he is under the impression that, even after all of these years, the French people really don't know how to speak their own language. He, on the other hand, speaks "fluent" French, which, of course, is really just English with a bad French accent. This story is incredibly funny. If you enjoy British humor (or, should I say humour), such as "The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy," then you will enjoy this story.

Deathgame (Hardy Boys Case Files, No 7)
Published in Paperback by Simon Pulse (March, 1991)
Author: Franklin W. Dixon
Average review score:

Stunning!!!Dixon is a wizard!
This book ,Deathgame, of the Hardy Boys casefiles,is the perfect example of how to write a mistery story, together with action, inteligence and ofcourse, feelings. The book gives articulate discriptions of places and events and has perfectly balanced details and entertainment. What I mean is,that many books give too detailed and articulate descriptions ,too detailed and articulate. They hurt the story's spirit. Joe Hardy's mental condition when he thinks that his brother is delicately handled so it doesn't get melodramatic and ridiculously poetic. This is a book, not to be missed ,but to be read and remembered.Dont miss it for the world. Cheerio, Shantanu Khandkar

The Descent of the Imagination: Postromantic Culture in the Later Novels of Thomas Hardy
Published in Paperback by New York University Press (October, 1993)
Author: Kevin Z. Moore
Average review score:

Most helpful book in understanding Hardy in context.
Moore captures the sense of Hardy's writing in historical literary context. He demonstrates, in detail, that Hardy's novels were ironic, satirical, and by and large critical responses to the major themes of Romantic and Victorian cultural postions. Moore argues, convincingly, that Hardy's main theme in Wessex was the fall of idealism into a history which was without Reaon, or "non-rational," as Hardy once named it. Hardy's major novels, more shows, replay the dark themes of Shelley's "Triumph of Time," in local contexts.
Moore's study is comprehensive, detailed, and well-argued. It is surprising that it is not more widely appreciated in the Hardy and Victorian studies communities, both of which are sorely in need of a few good arguments and fresh critical approaches.
